What Will A Successful Obama Presidency Look Like?
Wednesday, June 17th, 2009As we draw near to president elect Obama’s first day in office we ought to take the time ans ask ourselves this question. What will a successful presidency look like? It’s not clear to me at this point what Obama would consider a successful time in office.
When Obama faces his first day in office he will immediately be faced with many problems including the following:
- Bad Economy
- Huge Debt
- Huge Deficit
- War in Iraq
- Escalating War in Afghanistan
- Volatile Oil Prices
- Global Warming
- Divided Country
- Inflation
This isn’t an exhaustive list but shows that Obama needs to be an exceptional president just stay afloat. No president in my adult lifetime came into office with as great a challenge as Obama will. How will he react? We know in some instances like with the economy and deficit. In others like the War in Iraq and Inflation his stance is still evolving. What do my fellow viners think a successful Obama will do? List your top three or top five. If you are against Obama’s policies what would you consider a pleasant surprise from Obama? While we’re at it, how much do you think one man as president can do? Is it possible for Obama to fix any of these problems? These are all questions I’d love to see discussed in this thread.
