Edit Obama McCain - Who Cares - I’ve got better things to do.

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

So I heard there was a presidential election coming up in the US. Silly me, I seem to have forgotten about it. Why would a news junkie like me forget about the election? Actually, the answer is easy: I don’t care who wins. Neither candidate is talking about the important issues. I’ve completely tuned out of this election because it really doesn’t matter much. No matter who wins we will still have a huge national debt and no plans to pay it down. We still will not know how long Social Security will remain solvent. If McCain wins we will have globalist foreign policy where the US will use it’s influence around the globe and if Obama wins we will have a globalist foreign policy where the US will use it’s influence around the globe.

With McCain or Obama we will have different versions of globalists who believe government can fix everything. Both men will increase spending and move our government even further away from it’s constitutional mandate than we are today. As difficult as it is to believe it looks like both men will spend even more than the current president! Both men will continue to use the federal government to “fix” the problems of the world. Both believe that the federal government will fix our public education systems and blighted inner cities. Both men are championing more issues than any single president could ever hope to fix.

Did I really forget about this election? No, that was hyperbole. However, I have tuned out. As cool as it would be to have a self made black man become president, I just cannot stand behind Obama’s policies and belief that government is the answer. With McCain, I see very little to get behind. In the end, I am tuning out this election and studying the issues independent of the potential presidents. I believe more and more Americans are doing the same.

… What do you all think? Is this an important election? Will the US change much one way or the other depending on who wins?
